Biometric Door Locks
Biometric Door Locks - The Future Of Home Door Locks
Have you ever had issues with your door lock lately ? Loosing the key and having
your family members wait outside until you climb a backdoor window to open the door from the inside ? And later
replace the door lock with another expensive lock ? Here's where the biometric door locks come into play, solving a
major and frustrating problem. Now, all your family members will use only their fingerprint to open the lock. This
is the miracle of Biometric Technology today. Its very accurate system
of fingerprint recognition will store only certain information about your finger, not the entire image.
Biometric Door Locks have a high level of security, speed and convenience
and have gained considerable benefits over conventional door locks, keypad door locks, or card reader locks.
Compared with the hand reading method, fingerprint scanning technology has been proven more accurate and cost
effective. The duplication of biometric fingerpint is almost impossible with the chance of 1 in one billionth.
Biometric door locks guarantee security with something that cannot be lost, stolen or duplicated.
How does the biometric door lock system work ? The physical fingerprint is scanned and only certain features are
stored in a database. Then later the authorized person has to use his fingerprint for
identification.
Biometric Door Locks Technology
How does a biometric door lock work ? The uniqness of a fingerprint is determined by the pattern of ridges and
furrows. The scanner captures an image of the fingerprint and uses an algorithms to map the minutiae points.(
Minutiae points are local ridge characteristics that
occur at either a ridge bifurcation (split) or a ridge ending.) This data is then stored in a database inside
the lock, but not the image itself to prevent fraud. To reconstruct the fingerpint image from the mapping is
impossible.
